Crerar Trust is a private Trust that gives financial support to charitable causes, principally within Scotland
If your organisation would like to be considered for support by Crerar Trust you must ensure your application is fully completed and emailed to Crerar Trust’s Clerk within the application time frame window.
Details of dates for applications will be posted annually on this website when they are confirmed. Please request your application directly from Crerar Trust.
Crerar Trust Directors meet at least annually to confirm charitable distributions.
Grant Application
Please note that Crerar Trust only supports registered charities or causes that can be verified as charitable in intent.
All applicants must complete the Trust’s Application Form and return it, signed and dated.
Crerar Trust cannot accept applications out with the annual window for submissions.
Applications will NOT be accepted via post, only applications by email will be accepted: clerk@crerartrust.com
Application Dates
The next meeting will be held in January 2025. The application window will be between Monday 11th November and Friday 13th December 2024.
Crerar Trust supports
The prevention or relief of poverty.
The advancement of education.
The advancement of health.
The advancement of citizenship or community development.
The relief of those in need by reason of age, ill-health, disability, financial hardship or another disadvantage.
Any cause the Crerar Trust deems suitable that may not be covered by the above
Crerar Trust won’t support
Individuals.
Endowment or memorial funds.
General appeals or mailshots.
Political organisations.
Individual students or support organisations for personal study, travel.
Charities which collect funds for onward distribution to other charities.
Annual funding.
Additional Guidance
Crerar Trust favours clear, realistic and attainable aims described in straight forward language - describe exactly what you want, exactly why it’s needed and exactly what you need from Crerar Trust. Over egging financial need is not helpful and will adversely impact on any possible grant that may be considered.
Applicants who fail to complete Part B5 & C1, (and add “to refer to attached documents” instead) will be disregarded. The space available at B5 & C1 gives an indication of the amount of information required, in the event that Crerar Trust require additional information you will be contacted.
Unsigned applications will be disregarded.
If, post application submission, you have secured funding elsewhere please update your needs or withdraw your application if you no longer require funding. Organisations who withdraw (or update/adjust) applications if reapplying in future years will be fully considered.
Data Protection Act 1998
To comply with this Act, Crerar Trust requires the applicant’s consent to use personal data supplied by the applicant in the processing and review of a grant application. This includes transfer to and use by such individuals and organisations as Crerar Trust deems appropriate. Crerar Trust requires further assurance that personal data about any other individual is supplied to Crerar Trust with their consent. A signature on the Application Form confirms this assent and assurance.
Should you be successful in your application the Crerar Trust’s name can only be used in publicity or promotion with prior permission.
